Ok, my wife and I tried having a baby a year ago, she ended up getting pregnant and carrying the baby for 11 weeks, but the ended up losing the baby to a PARTIAL MOLAR Pregnancy. She had a D&C. We waited 6 months as recommended by the doctor, before trying to conceive again, when we started trying to have a baby again her periods went from normal 28 day periods to 30 day periods the last 2 cycles and now this month she has not had her period but is now 6 days late and she has occasional sharp.
There is a good chance im also late only by 3 days. i tested this morning it was negative i hope me.
Late Period Negative Pregnancy Test–When to Worry
Women who have period 4 days late or longer, or miss their periods more than three times in a row and get negative results in their pregnancy tests must consult a doctor for a thorough evaluation. A problem with the thyroid gland, for example, may interfere with menstrual cycles. Symptoms of thyroid dysfunction include hair loss, extreme tiredness, and weight gain. Another condition that can cause absence of menstrual periods is when the brain produces high levels of prolactin, a hormone that is usually present in breastfeeding moms. If you miss your periods and have a milky discharge from your breasts or symptoms of thyroid problems, consult your doctor. These problems are usually treated with medications which can also help restore your normal menstrual cycles.
Another possibility you might consider is peri-menopause, which can cause irregularities in your periods. This may be confirmed by taking a blood test for FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) levels, which, if elevated, suggests that no ovulation is taking place. This is characteristic of peri-menopause or premature menopause in younger women.
Late Period Negative Pregnancy Test–What to Do
Experts say that the results of a home pregnancy test are more likely to be wrong when it is negative than when it is positive. The presence of hCG hormone is what makes it turn out to be positive, but a negative result does not necessarily mean you are not pregnant. A woman who conceives but tests too soon may obtain negative results if implantation has not taken place. This is the reason why experts recommend taking a pregnancy test at least one week after missing your period, when it is more reliable to expect hCG to show in the urine.
If you think you have already waited long enough and still get negative results, it probably means you are not pregnant. Find out if this is just a temporary delay in your menstrual cycle due to stress or other factors, or if this is due to a medical problem, which needs further investigation.
Signs Of Pregnancy But Negative Pregnancy Test?
Few things are more frustrating to women than not knowing if they are pregnant or simply late getting their periods. If a woman’s cycle has always been sporadic or if she has never before been pregnant, this dilemma can be particularly confusing and stressful. Her concern may be compounded when she takes a pregnancy test and gets a negative result. If she has all of the signs of pregnancy but negative pregnancy test results are all that are given to her, she may wonder if she has some other health condition or if she needs to go to her doctor for a blood test.
In fact, a blood test is the best way for women to find out if they truly are pregnant. Hospital and doctor’s office labs are equipped to detect the faintest traces of hCG hormones, even during early pregnancy. However, blood tests can be time consuming, expensive, and an overall experience that people want to avoid unless they absolutely cannot avoid it. Instead of having lab work done, a woman may prefer to take an over-the-counter test to determine whether or not she is pregnant, especially is she is showing all of the signs of early pregnancy.
With that, she may be getting a false negative for several key reasons. First, medications like fertility drugs can throw off a test result and give a faulty reading. If a woman suspects she may be pregnant, she should avoid taking these medications for a few days to ensure a better and more accurate result. However, she should only stop taking these medications as directed by her doctor. Second, she may be getting a false negative because of poor quality urine. As curious as it sounds, these tests require high quality urine to give the best results. She should take the test first thing in the morning when her urine is at its purest content.
Missed Period Symptoms Still Negative Pregnancy Test?
When a woman has all the signs of pregnancy but keeps getting negative readings, she may be trying to get an accurate result too early. In fact, while some brands of tests on the market today promise that they can give accurate results even before a missed period, it is still very possible to get skewed readings that early. A woman would get better results by waiting until she has actually missed her period for a few days, if not up to a week, before testing.
If she is indeed several days late, but still getting a negative reading, it could stem in part from her overall physical health. Certain thyroid conditions, such as hypothyroidism, can cause false negatives in pregnancy tests. The readings can be even more skewed if she is taking medications for this or other thyroid-related disorders. If she genuinely believes that she is pregnant, but getting negative test results, she should ask her doctor for a blood test to confirm the presence or absence of the pregnancy hormone hCG in her bloodstream.
